Mime as Therapy

Mime As Therapy’s “MAT Mime Breaks” are short, sensory and imagination breaks, using mime. MAT Mime Breaks were created by The O’Kelley Lab and actor/mime teacher, Terry Hart, as fun, educational, and creative movement breaks– between classes, during the workday, or whenever you need a short, recreational reset.

The series includes 10 MAT Mime Breaks, which can be purchased as a series or individually on Vimeo.

2e Like Me

2e Advocate, Jordan O'Kelley, offers tips on how 2e (twice exceptional) students like himself can find resources, tools, and supports and stay positive during this time of distanced learning. Jordan shares his story of having been diagnosed as autistic at age 4, identified as gifted at age 10, and having dysgraphia and prosopagnosia (face blindness). This episode includes a game-changing tip for students with dysgraphia who are struggling with math notes.

Keys to Reward

Attain behavioral goals by reinforcing the positive and disregarding the negative. The Keys chart comes in several variations. This chart can be used for positive reinforcement in a home or classroom setting. The key is that the student picks the reward they are working towards and the reinforcement intervals are flexible to the individuals' needs to feel successful. Reach out to us if you have any questions on how to use this chart.

O'Kelley Legends Books

Hi, this is Jordan O'Kelley. I wrote my first book, "O'Kelley Legendary Legends of Legend" when I was in 4th grade, to get out of doing homework. That may sound counter-intuitive, but that's the way it happened. Now I have adapted that book of funny (slightly embellished) family stories into this book of monologues, which can easily be performed by elementary and middle school students, in drama class, as a school play, or as a community fundraiser. I hope you will have as much fun as we did reading and performing these monologues. And I still want to say... if you have a kid that hates homework, maybe give them a break and let them write something that they want to write about instead. It worked for me! Thanks!

2e Trauma Momma

The mission of “2e Trauma Momma” is to bring awareness, community, and support to families of 2e or twice exceptional (gifted + 1 or more disability), gifted, and neurodiverse individuals. By sharing stories of motherhood through storytelling, we hope to shed light on the toll caregiving our children without supports can take on families' mental health as well as promote and fundraise with stories for a cause.
